Yirgacheffe Ethiopian Coffee
Origin
Yirgacheffe Coffee is a wet process (washed) natural Ethiopian Coffee grown at elevations from 1,700 to 2,200 meters above sea level and is considered to be the best high grown coffee in southern Ethiopia, an exotic coffee region known for its prolific berries.
These elevations qualify Yirgacheffe as Strictly High Grown (SHG) / Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) coffees. The fruit grows slowly due to the altitude, allowing additional time for the tree to deliver nutrients to the coffee and develop the best flavours. This particular lot is a single farmer heirloom variety which is naturally dried for 18 days before processing.
Profile
Ethiopian coffee’s are generally low in acidity however it is essential and quite normal. Â Acidity is generally measured as sweet, vibrant or bright. The acidity in Yirgacheffe is medium and fairly fruity which suggests a brightness to the cup.
Flavour
Yirgacheffe boasts spicy, wine flavoured notes which are very subtle. The unique flavours consist of Bitter lemon, bergamot, guava and raspberry. This means that you really have to think about the Coffee taste when it glides over the palate. After some practise you will  identify these unique silky tastes. So get practising!!!

Shipping
Please note that your Coffee bean order will be freshly roasted and will require 24 hours for de-gassing. This is a natural process giving a more even extraction allowing for a smoother flavour.
