Who We Are

Hello and thank you for taking the time to appreciate our wonderful naturally grown Coffees. Whether you’re researching or just browsing it’s great to have you here.

My name is Eden Desalegne Dashe and if you haven’t already guessed it, I’m from the beautiful, diverse country of Ethiopia. A landlocked country bordered by Somalia to the East and Kenya to the South.

So why do i live and breathe Coffee. Well my ancestors have been consuming this special brew for over ten centuries so naturally for me it all started from a young age where as a family and community we performed a daily ritual called the Jebena Buna ceremony. This is an incredibly social way of drinking Coffee where the host who may be a neighbour or friend accepts the honour of manually roasting, grinding and serving Coffee to a captivated audience. More of that in detail later.

So i realised the importance of growing Coffee not only from a local consumption aspect but also the need for exportation. You see we don’t have a lot of product export in Ethiopia but next to gold, coffee is one of our largest! 

I’ve travelled a lot in my life and it never ceases to amaze me the amount of Ethiopian communities that pop up, sometimes in the most unlikely places. When i moved to the UK it only seemed fitting that i should share my love and knowledge of Coffee with the rest of the world. I started Konjo Coffee with little more than a plan and it has steadily grown into a special brand recognised by locals and international Coffee drinkers alike. I select and roast all our Coffee beans with the help of my beautiful family.

So the love of Ethiopian Coffee has spread across the globe and i want you to enjoy it as much as we all do. If i can make a small impact on the world it should be through educating and promoting the rich natural flavours of my country.
